The Granger G50 "Firestorm" valve amplifier is a high gain, single channel "hotrodded" supreme tone machine. Think of a modified Plexi, JCM800, or the "grail" of all tone, that late 70's "brown sound" - you get the idea. What's really interesting about the G50 is it's dual role. Turn the Master Volume up and the Volume (gain) down, and you get a sweet, clean blues tone that is super responsive to the touch. Play lightly and the tone is soft and clean, but hit a note hard and it instantly jumps into liquid sustain and controllable feedback. There are no footswitches or relays - just pure all-tube tone using the finest tone-enhancing components. High and Low impedance inputs allow the guitarist to match guitars and pickup configurations. There's also a push-pull pot on the Volume control that gives a thicker voicing for "thin-sounding" guitars. The preamp consists of 3 ECC83S valves and power is rectified by four robust UF5408 diodes. The power section runs on two E34Ls which produces over 50 watts when fully overdriven into saturation. KT77s can be substituted if you prefer even more pronounced low end crunch and a smoother high end. For the service-minded player, an external bias adjustment with low voltage test points allows the user to bias the amp when replacing output valves without removing the chassis.
