:: SERVICES WE OFFER ::
In addition to our custom amplifiers, we offer many services to the discerning player. We've listed some of them below. Contact us if you have something in mind not listed on this page.
Amp Repair/Rebuild/Restoration
We service and repair most brands of vacuum tube amps. We offer filter cap replacement, bias adjustments for new tubes, replace blown components, cleaning and restorations, and resurrections on amps that have ceased to function. We've brought old amps back from the dead and have rebuilt amps from the chassis up. We can restore previously modded vintage amps back to their vintage specs, and recover ripped up Tolex cabinets and anything else to make your vintage amp "sing & shine" again.
Modifications
We can modify existing amps to improve/change their tone and/or add more gain (or clean headroom if desired). We can add effects loops, power scaling/VVR/Vari-Watt, and other functions. If you have an amp you would like to mod, we can probably do it. Please consider before asking to mod a vintage amp (unless its completely reversible). We discourage this due to liability issues and the way it affects resell value. If you really need a "hot-rodded amp" please consider leaving your vintage amp intact, and having the exact amp you want custom built by us (or by one of our many competitors). The collectors will thank you!
Kit Building
You buy it, We build it!
Is there an amp you'd like to own, but can't afford the real thing? Now you can own your very own, handwired replica! If you're thinking of buying an amp kit, but are not comfortable with the risks of building it yourself (there are lethal voltages around 500V inside a tube amp), send it to us (or have it drop-shipped) and we will build it for you at a very reasonable cost. We build all kinds of amps and will deliver the same guaranteed build quality found in our own custom amps. See our links page for a few vendors that offer great amp kits. Contact us for a quote or questions about kits!
Pricing and Shipping terms
Service/mod/repair work is $40 per hour with a 1/2 hour minimum. Most service work can be done in less than 2-3 hours. Please do not ask us or expect us to rush our work to cut costs! Both safety and reliability are huge factors for us, and should be for you too!
Shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer. For Continental US orders we ship FedEx insured. International orders are shipped either FedEx or BAX Global. All liability for shipments to us are the responsibility of the shipper. Please insure your packages as necessary.
Current turnaround times
For custom amp builds/rebuilds: 10-11 weeks from date of first cleared deposit.
For repairs & modifications: 2-3 weeks.
For basic servicing (retubes, biasing, etc.): Same day (your tubes), 3 days (our tubes)
